5 pictures by MIKE HARDY

Hi,

Just found your site and thought you might wish to share my favourite Eric Sardinas concert experience. By Aug 2004 I was already a big fan, having seen Eric supporting Steve Vai in the UK a couple of times and collected his CDs as they were released.

While we were on holiday in Spain we went to the local restaurant for a BBQ, after which they started playing Karaoke (which I hate). As it was a nice evening, I suggested we go to the local beach for a drink and let the kids play on the beach before going home. We walked down to the beach and found a stage set up in the car park with some guitars onstage. Since myself and my mate's kids (who are in their teens) are into guitar music, we thought we better hang around and check out who it was.

Anyway, imagine my shock when an hour later Eric and band stroll out on stage to play an absolute barn-storming set of around 1 1/2 to 2 hours, to I guess around 300 people. The "crowd stroll guitar solo with Budweiser bottle" was a particular favourite, as Eric managed to find a police car and played some of the solo from the back seat of it, before wandering up the road to another bar to recruit some more fans!

After the concert, the band were selling CDs, and since the night was free, I thought it would be rude not to support the band financially, so bought another copy of Black Pearls which the band signed. A perfect end to a perfect evening.

Apologies that I can't remember the set list or the date, but I have attached some of the photos from the evening.

Can't wait for the new album - and fingers crossed for some live material soon.

All the best,

Mike
