the '404 - file not found' blues

You try to find the file, but the file just can't be found.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people, and there ain't nothin' nobody can do about it. Luckily, this isn't one of those times.

First, go back and check the URL you entered. It should be all lower case, and the page extension should be .html, not .htm.

Second, check the URL's spelling. Respect Perfection is set up to send you to the right page when there's a spelling goof, but if the goof is really creative, it confounds the server.

Third, email me that broken link, so I can fix it. Make sure to send me the URL of the page you came from, too, whether it's on this site or not. If the page that sent you here is on this site, I can fix it. If it isn't, I can shoot an email to the referring site and ask them to.
